This is where luck played a role in our journey. On Oct 11, 2017, we attended an entrepreneur meetup event hosted by TorontoStarts, where Craig Major let us do a pitch rehearsal in front of a live audience.
During that event, Jess Joss (Marketing Chair, Board of Directors at National Angel Capital Organization) saw our pitch, and after we approached her for her thoughts about it, she graciously invited us to a York Angel Investors Meeting.
In the meeting, we met Ignacio Mongrell (Strategic Relations and Innovations Manager at ICUBE UTM), and he referred us to the University of Toronto's "Health Innovation Hub" a.k.a. H2i (by the Faculty of Medicine).
We went to the University of Toronto's ONRamp to meet with Andris Lauris (mentor at H2i), and from that meeting we were told that OPTI-FOLD was a medical device company! With the help from H2i, they will connect us with opportunities for internship support and other resources to scale the project.
Thanks everyone for all the support and for following us on our entrepreneurial journey!
